History of Tourist Radio,
We were travelling in Australia 5 years ago and while going through a touristy town on the west coast (Margaret River) we noticed a sign that said Tourist Radio Australia with an FM frequency for radio. The passenger reached over and tuned in for us to hear a simple message about what to see and do. We actually did a number of things recommended from listening to the short audio loop. Have a listen to a sample audio loop and ponder: if you were travelling through Boundary Country would think about stopping to see what is going on? http://touristradio.ca/businessmodel/programming.html The new venture had a number of road blocks...a huge one was NO ADVERTISING. After two years of broadcasting, we were allowed to challenge that CRTC regulation. Here is the result > http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2013/2013-620.htm which summarized, allows for full commercial advertising. Good.....finally revenue potential beyond selling some website advertising. So...to make this work with as little input from head office as possible we have a number of ideas that will allow us to set up 60 to 100 stations across Canada over the next few years. Thanks for reading the above. Please review and let us know if you would like to know more about opportunities with Tourist Radio. Kelowna BC 250 863-8372 |
